What to you need to know before traveling to the USA regarding Covid19 measures? On November 8th, after more than 600 days, the USA lifted a travel ban for vaccinated travelers from Mexico, Canada and Europe. New Requirements at the US Border

The new U.S. requirements to pass the border:

  • By air: a negative test of less than 3 days and proof of full vaccination for 18 and older. Under 18 years old, children must take a Covid19 test within 24h of travel if traveling with an unvaccinated adult and within 3 days if traveling with a vaccinated adult. Passengers must complete an attestation form before departure.
  • On land or by ferry: proof of full vaccination for 18 and older. Children under 18 are allowed to enter with a vaccinated adult.

Vaccination requirements:

  • What vaccines are accepted? All the vaccines available in the US (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson) as well as the ones listed by the World Health Organization (AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Covishield, BIBP/Sinopharm and Sinovac) are acceptable for covid-19 vaccination.
  • When are you fully vaccinated? Two weeks after your dose of an accepted single-dose vaccine or your second dose of a 2-dose vaccine. (day of vaccination +14 days)
