Due to the pandemic, most summer 2020’s sport events were cancelled or postponed to summer 2021. Euro 2020 and 2020 Summer Olympics will be held while the world starts reopening.
Euro 2020
The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, European Soccer Competition, was initially scheduled from June 12th to July 12th 2020. Due to the pandemic, it will be held from June 11 to July 11th 2021. 20 European Countries are playing for the title of European Champions! England 🇬🇧 and France 🇫🇷 (winners of the 2018 World Cup) are playing favorites. For the 1st time in its history, the Euro 2020 will be held across the continent and not in one host country. 11 host cities have been chosen (Amsterdam, Baku, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Munich, London, Rome, Seville, Saint Petersburg). London will host the Final and semi-finals. Cities will welcome fans back to the stadium with variable capacity, from 22% in Munich to 100% in Budapest. 2020 Summer Olympics
The 2020 Summer Olympics, or Tokyo 2020, were initially scheduled from July 24th to August 9th 2020. Due to the pandemic, the international multi-sport event will be held from July 23rd to August 8th 2021. The Games will not allow international spectators nor friends and family of the athletes. The 2020 Olympics will include 50 disciplines. Among them, we will enjoy watching the well known sports like artistic gymnastics or fencing or discover new ones like squash or wrestling. As very few of us will be able to attend in person, we will be able to watch the events on NBC stations.
