The 73th edition of the Cannes Film Festival was cancelled due to the pandemic. For the first time, the 74th edition will take place in the summer, from July 06th to 17th

Cannes, a famous town on the French Riviera, is filled with legendary landmarks like the boulevard de la Croisette, beaches, port and of course the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

Beaches

The magnificent bay of Cannes is 7.5 km (4.7miles) of sandy beaches. You can relax with your feet in the water or enjoy one of the many activities (beach volleyball, stand up paddle, kite surfing…) You can even find a beach library to find some reading for when you’re tanning. Le palais des Festivals et des Congrès

Le palais des Festivals is the convention centre and hosts every year the Cannes Film Festival. The first building was inaugurated in 1949 and the new one in1982. It is located on the famous Promenade de la Croisette. For the Festival, the palace gets its ceremonial outfit and its steps are covered with the famous red carpet. The modern building is complete with Allee des Etoiles, Cannes’ walk of fame.

La Croisette

Boulevard de la Croisette, or Promenade de la Croisette,  curving along the beaches, the luxury boutiques and palaces, is about 2 km long (1.2 miles). It is listed in the cultural heritage general inventory of France.

Cannes Hotels

Cannes has many mythical hotels, where you could meet many celebrities if you’re lucky. Among them, on the Promenade de la Croisette, you can find the Carlton, the Majestic or the Martinez or the JW Mariott, with their luxurious rooms, pools, bars and gourmet restaurants. Count over $1,000 per night for a night in one of these hotels during the festival.

Casinos & Night Clubs

Cannes has 3 casinos and 7 Night Clubs. With a formal dress code, you could hobnob with the jetsetters and the all nighters. You will be able to play, dance and party all night long. The night clubs stay open until 7am even though the bars close at 5:30 am. You will therefore be able to take a bus or a train home, and avoid driving under influence.

The Old Port of Cannes

Located in the heart of Cannes, the Old Port of Cannes will offer you many boating activities. From there, you will discover the French Riviera, Cannes’ landscape. The Old Port of Cannes is located between Le Suquet, the old Provençal neighborhood and the glamorous part of the city.
